Custom projects. Step by step
Work starts with customer’s idea. It can be description of what should it be in a few words. Of course, reference picture or any other visual materials can help me to understand the idea better. In several cases customers sent me their sketches which I successively adopted to ring design.
After approving the sketch, we select the materials for the project together with the customer. I work with about 15 different kinds of hardwood so it gives a good possibility to make the ring more expressive by choosing the right materials: every kind of wood has its own color and texture.
In some cases, I can make plasticine model for a future ring. It helps to avoid mistakes in making complicated designs and gives understanding how carved elements would look like..
When the design and materials have been discussed and approved by the customer, I send link from web shop with detailed project description and PayPal payment option. From this point work starts in material.
Making time depends on difficulty and can take from 2 to 6 weeks. During this period, I make photos and short videos with progress and send it to my customer.
When the ring is ready for shipping I send pictures and video review with final result and ask my customer for delivery address..
When the parcel is sent I provide tracking code for it.
